Zero Voltage Regulation Of The Transformer

Zero Voltage Regulation Of The Transformer

An ideal transformer is a theoretical representation of a transformer with zero loss. In the zero voltage adjustment mode, the voltage at the transmitting end and the voltage at the receiving end are equal. Voltage regulation refers to the measurement of the change in voltage amplitude between the sending and receiving ends of a component from no load to full load.

In an ideal transformer, there should be no voltage drop in the secondary winding(three phase ei laminated power transformer). Therefore, when the load changes from full bread to no load, the voltage change on the secondary side is zero. Therefore, for an ideal transformer, the voltage regulation is zero.

Zero Voltage Regulation Of The Transformer

The voltage regulation of the transformer depends on the power factor of the load. If the load is inductive, the power factor will lag, and if the load is capacitive, the power factor will lead. The transformer winding has a certain impedance. Due to this impedance, some voltage will drop. Since the current at no load is zero, there should be no voltage loss on the secondary winding.

However, when the load on the transformer gradually rises to the full load, the full load current flows through the winding, and a certain voltage is dropped on the primary winding and the secondary winding(dry type transformer manufacturer). This voltage drop depends on the load current.

Therefore, due to the losses on the primary winding, the voltage at the input terminal of the transformer is always higher than the primary winding voltage. Similarly, due to the losses in the secondary winding, the load voltage is always lower than the induced secondary voltage.

The load connected to the power system or transformer will not always be stable. Load changes will cause current changes and therefore voltage drops in the transformer windings. The power supply voltage of the equipment provided by the transformer must be maintained. Because the power supply voltage directly affects the performance of the device. Therefore, the voltage regulation of the transformer is very important.
